Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) |
The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth studio album by British rock band Pink Floyd, released on 1 March 1973 by Harvest Records in the United Kingdom and Capitol Records in the United States. Developed during live performances before recording began, it was conceived as a concept album that would focus on the pressures the band faced during their arduous lifestyle and also address the mental health problems of former band member Syd Barrett, who left the group in 1968. New material was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at EMI Studios—now Abbey Road Studios—in London.
The record draws on ideas explored in Pink Floyd's previous recordings and performances, omitting the extensive instrumentals that characterised the band's earlier work. The group employed multitrack recording, tape loops, and analog synthesizers, including experimentation with the EMS VCS 3 and a Synthi A. Engineer Alan Parsons was responsible for many of the sonic aspects of the recording and for the hiring of session singer Clare Torry, who appears on "The Great Gig in the Sky."
The Dark Side of the Moon explores themes such as conflict, greed, time, death, and mental illness. Snippets of interviews with the band's road crew and others are presented alongside philosophical quotes. The cover art, depicting a prismatic spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson in response to keyboardist Richard Wright's request for a "simple and bold" design that represented the band's enlightenment and the record's themes. The album was promoted with two singles: "Money" and "Us and Them."

UKRONIA
Simple harbinger of future events, the succession of images. A strange animal stopped upright in front of the artemisia. The basca can be perceived in its snort. The zephyr drags the foul aroma, which flames like a shell. Vesicant vitriol miasma stains space red. Difficult to breathe in the middle of the cough gas. The springs provide the vital component of such a corrosive nature. Everything originates from the trickery of the big polluting corporations, their executive defectors and the mischief of reprobate politicians. In their earthly gloating they cannot glimpse the sinderesis of the just. Virtue that turns hell on earth into uchronia, achieving divine prez. Praise to the sinderesis against the leso, for their improbous doing they wage the catastrophe.
"The Aleph" by Jorge Luis Borges
"El Aleph" (1949) is one of the most emblematic stories of the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, included in his homonymous collection. The work is a masterful example of his literary style, which combines metaphysics, fantasy literature and reflections on infinity, time and human perception.
Argument
The narrator, Borges himself (in a fictional autobiographical game), recounts how, after the death of Beatriz Viterbo, a woman he loved unrequited, he begins to visit her house every April 30, the date of her birthday. There she establishes a tense relationship with Carlos Argentino Daneri, Beatriz's cousin and pompous poet who writes an endless poem entitled "La Tierra", where he intends to describe the entire planet.
Daneri reveals that in the basement of his house there is an Aleph, a point that contains all the points of the universe, where all things are seen simultaneously: from the remotest corners of the cosmos to the most intimate details of human life. Borges, incredulous at first, agrees to see it and experiences an overwhelming revelation: he perceives infinity in an instant, in a minimal space.

Conclusion
"The Aleph" is a masterpiece of fantasy literature that explores the limits of the human mind in the face of the sublime. Borges turns an abstract concept (infinity) into a fascinating narrative experience, challenging the reader to imagine the unimaginable.
